Greece Approves Acquisition of 20 F-35 Fighters

The deal makes Greece the 19th country to adopt the F-35.

Greece has approved an approximate $3.5 billion agreement with the U.S. to acquire 20 F-35A Lightning II fighters, becoming the 19th country to adopt the aircraft.

 

The deal, formalized on July 25, 2024, includes the aircraft as well as training, simulators, and technical support.

 

The first deliveries are expected to begin in 2028.

 

Additionally, Greece retains the option to purchase another 20 additional aircraft.
