U.S. Army to test tactical vehicle system tech on AMPV armored personnel carrier

[U.S. ARMY]

The U.S. Army expects to conduct testing of a tactical vehicle-based system on its AMPV armored personnel carrier next year that’s designed to provide vehicle occupants with advanced situational awareness.

The system, known as the Terrestrial Layer System (TLS), provides integrated signal intelligence, electronic warfare, and cyber security capabilities to armored vehicles.

TLS is under development by Lockheed Martin.

Developed by BAE Systems, the AMPV is the Army’s future armored personnel carrier and will replace the M113 APC that’s been in service since 1960.
