The Marine Corps is requesting to purchase more than three dozen tactical resupply unmanned aircraft systems (TRUAS) as it pushes for unmanned aerial resupply capabilities.
The Marine Corps is allocating more than $13 million for the potential purchase.
The TRUAS, designed like large quadcopters, can carry payloads of up to 150 pounds for more than nine miles. The Marine Corps plans to declare the initial operational capability of the system later this fall.
