Unmanned System Applications
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)

UAV systems have been maturing for decades now. Today’s UAVs consist of a wide range of large and small aircraft classes that can carry out an extensive variety of missions, including precision strikes, close air support (CAS), and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), with applications growing to include collaborative combat wingmen (CCAs) and more. From large UAV airframes to man-portable small UAVs (SUAVs) and drones, Amphenol Aerospace interconnect systems provide reliable power, signal, and data connectivity across flight control, payload, and communications systems. Designed to withstand extreme vibration, temperature, and EMI, Amphenol connectors enable consistent performance and mission readiness in every class of UAV platform.
Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs)

UGVs have become indispensable tools for carrying out a variety of tough jobs in the field. Ordnance disposal, ISR, search and rescue, and other high-risk missions have increasingly been relegated to advanced, hardened UGV platforms in recent years. Today, UGV platforms are being scaled to carry out even more essential missions including ground transport, combat support, and more. One thing is certain: these types of jobs are dangerous, and the UGV platforms that perform them must be designed to take punishment. Amphenol’s harsh-environment connectors deliver dependable performance for drivetrain control, onboard computing, and sensor arrays and are highly ruggedized to maintain power and signal integrity through shock, dust, and debris.
Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs)

Like UGVs on land, USVs are increasingly being utilized in modern naval and maritime operations. New classes of USVs are being used for a range of operations including mine countermeasures, anti-submarine warfare, and reconnaissance, to civilian applications such as oceanographic research, all without the need for onboard crew. Operating in harsh sea conditions means exposure to saltwater, humidity, and constant vibration. Many Amphenol Aerospace interconnects feature waterproof sealing, and our interconnect solutions are designed for reliable power and signal transfer required for complex propulsion, navigation, and sensor systems on USV platforms. Engineered with corrosion-resistant materials and ruggedized designs, our connectors are built to withstand long-duration exposure at sea and demanding maritime use.
Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs)

The counterpart to USVs, UUV technology is maturing, and these systems are being deployed to carry out a variety of undersea missions, from naval reconnaissance and intelligence gathering, mine countermeasures, patrols, and more. Operating a remote-controlled platform continuously underwater requires interconnect systems that are corrosion-resistant, can handle persistent exposure to saltwater, vibration, and electromagnetic interference, can withstand high-PSI underwater environments, and more harsh-environment considerations for operating under the ocean. Amphenol Aerospace provides a range of interconnect solutions that reliably maintain power and signal connectivity beneath the waves.
