Poland Secures $745 Million Deal for 200 US-made AARGM-ER Missiles
Feb. 7, 2025
Poland formalized a contract with the United States on Jan. 28 to acquire over 200 AGM-88G Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles-Extended Range (AARGM-ER) in anticipation of the country’s F-35 fighters, which are scheduled for delivery beginning in 2026.
The contract has a net value of approximately $745 million.
The AARGM-ER missiles are designed to neutralize installations from distances exceeding 200 kilometers. Deliveries are scheduled between 2029 and 2035, aligning with the anticipated arrival of Poland's F-35 fighters starting in 2026.
These missiles will be integrated into the F-35 fleet, with potential future adaptation for existing F-16 aircraft.
The AGM-88G AARGM-ER is an advanced iteration of the AGM-88 missile series, featuring a dual-pulse solid rocket motor and an advanced warhead, effectively doubling its range over previous versions. It employs a multi-mode seeker to target emissions from air defense radars and is compatible with both external and internal carriage on the F-35 aircraft.
