South Korea to Acquire Four Boeing E-7 Wedgetail Aircraft in deal with US

The U.S. State Department has approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to South Korea involving four E-7 Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft, with an estimated value of $4.92 billion.
In addition to the planes, the proposed package includes ten CFM56 jet engines—eight installed and two spares—along with associated equipment such as Guardian Laser Transmitter Assemblies, Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures System Processor Replacements, and Embedded Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation Systems.
The E-7 Wedgetail, developed by Boeing, provides advanced airborne battle management and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities.
