MIL-DTL-38999 Series III style connectors featuring an integral banding platform or integral strain relief eliminate the need for an additional backshell accessory. The banding platform feature incorporated into the rear of the connector shell allows the user to attached the shield of their cable directly to the connector, providing superior EMI shielding, enhanced sealing and ease for overmold applications. The integral strain relief feature allows the user to reduce stress on the connector, insert and contacts with a one-piece shell design and solves the problem of accessory backoff concerns.
